We give the notice that AMS Flight established and build new modern, nice looking and rational gliders and aircraft development & manufacturing and gliders service facilities.
Gliders have been built in Begunje location since 1980 and Elan / AMS production facility looks like it. The factory was flat located. This results in moving many gliders and parts up and down along the sloped overpass what become not practical, being damages potential and making consequently the not necessary costs. Old facility was not suitable to organize the activities of gliders production, aircraft production and service works on separated areas. Many of the master models and moulds tools not in daily use were stored at the same facility. We did not had an airfield in front of the company location can use it simple and flexible for the test and demonstration flights. In the year 2010 AMS finalized to change the factory location (2600 square meters) step by step. Many of the sorting and marking works were necessary to be performed with AMS team knowing the details, tools, aircraft production rules and traceability. It was necessary to move, check and maintain a large quantity of the tools, goods, parts, material, airplane, archive (150 boxes with many files inside for instance), … from the old location to new ones.
AMS office work, some communications activities and parts delivery terms were interrupted out from AMS location changes activities. Today the Carat manufacturing, Magnus development & prototyping and gliders service works are going on and forward separated as modern organizations need to be and we will continue to deliver spare parts with shorter delivery terms from January 2011 on again.
